This ranked directory features golf clubs around the world that are over 100 years old. Curated by The Centenary, it celebrates institutions that have upheld the traditions of the game for more than a century.
When we began this project, we were surprised to find that no comprehensive global list of century-old golf clubs existed. Founding dates were scattered across various national and regional golf bodies, club websites, member directories, and even old scanned documents.
While debates may continue about exact dates, we included only those centenary clubs with clear evidence of formal establishment. This page represents our effort to create the most accurate and complete public resource of its kind. We have not included golf clubs that are no longer in operation.
Note: only golf clubs are included in this list, not golf courses. For example, Musselburgh Links was founded in 1672, but this is not a club. We also only list golf clubs who play on a specific golf course, preferably named the same as the golf club.
