Circles is created for existing reciprocal collaborations between historic golf clubs – such as
The 1895 Club, the 1893 Club and the 1892 Club – that were built with great intention,
but are increasingly hard to maintain and communicate.
Circles gives these long-standing partnerships a single, modern, digital home where members can clearly see:
which clubs are in the network, who may play, and under which conditions – all without changing the spirit of the original agreements.
In short: Circles turns informal, often invisible reciprocal agreements into a
visible, embeddable and trackable network —
while participating clubs remain fully in control.
Why many reciprocal groups are quietly fading
During our conversations with secretaries, managers and board members, we keep hearing the same issues:
No clear owner: when committees change, nobody really knows who manages which reciprocal agreements.
Outdated or inconsistent lists: each club maintains its own version, so no two lists are the same.
No structured growth: nobody is actively inviting new, eligible clubs to join the circle – even when there are dozens of natural candidates.
Frozen admission rules: many agreements still say “free” while some clubs would now prefer a member-guest rate or defined discount.
Limited promotion: especially the stronger clubs hesitate to publish an unclear or outdated list on their website.
The result: usage drops, administration becomes harder, and valuable reciprocal networks slowly lose relevance –
even though they could be a powerful extra benefit for members.
What Circles does for your club
Circles solves these issues without changing who you welcome or how you run your club:
One accurate source of truth for all participating clubs – map and list always up to date.
Beautifully embeddable map and list for each club’s website: no development work required.
Clear playing conditions shown per club (free, member-guest rate, fixed discount, number of rounds, etc.).
Full club control: you decide who’s in the circle and under which admission terms.
Room to modernise: gradually move from “free” to a member-guest rate or discount structure if desired.
Support for growth: we help identify and approach suitable new clubs to join your circle.
Three Circles already live
To show what Circles looks like in practice, we have created and host three example Circles:
These examples demonstrate how an existing collaboration can be turned into a clear, interactive overview for members,
with consistent information across all participating clubs.
Two simple levels of participation
1. Circles Classic – visibility & clarity
Ideal for existing reciprocal groups that want to present their collaboration clearly online and make it easy for members to understand and use.
A dedicated Circle page hosted by The Centenary (e.g. The 1895 Club).
An interactive map showing all participating clubs and their locations.
A searchable list view with access terms and playing conditions per club.
Copy-paste embed codes so every participating club can add the map and/or list to its own website.
Centralised updates: adjust one record, and all maps & lists are instantly up to date.
Based on what you want, we can help to grow the reciprocal circle by reaching out to other relevant clubs
Simple, symbolic pricing: your founding year divided by 10 (e.g. €189.50 for 1895).
2. Circles Plus – insight & coordination
For Circles that want more coordination, Circles Plus adds member-level administration and usage insights:
The Centenary handles requests and approvals between participating clubs.
Usage insights per club: how many members travel, where they go, and how many guests you receive.
Options to define maximum rounds per year and other fair-use parameters.
Data that supports balanced, long-term cooperation between clubs.
Pricing for Circles Plus will be defined together with our first Circles partners,
to ensure a fair and transparent structure that reflects different circle sizes and needs.
Circles Classic makes your collaboration visible.
Circles Plus makes it visible and measurable.
How starting a Circle works
Setting up your Circle is straightforward:
You share your current list of participating clubs and the basic terms of your reciprocal agreement.
We create your Circle page, map and list and prepare the embed codes for all participating clubs.
You and your partner clubs link to the Circle from your websites – instantly giving members a clear overview.
Over time, we can help you refine admission rules and identify potential new clubs to join.
